Despite many years in the hotel industry, it’s a lot to get into for Sky’s new Site Manager, Ulrika Jonsson. As a manager of the three business areas Hotel Apartments, Meetings and Town Apartments, there is a lot on the agenda. Ulrika took office in April this year since Moa Arencranz decided to leave her employment after 9 years at Sky. Ulrika comes from Selecta where she worked as a Service Manager, and has previously been 17 years at Scandic Hotels in Norrköping and Linköping in different positions. We have asked some questions to Ulrika.
Welcome to Sky Ulrika, how has your first time been?
Totally amazing! I feel warmly welcomed and already like one in the team, even though I have been here for just over 2 weeks. Everyone really works for the guest in focus and I experience close and genuine collaboration across the departments to deliver top quality service to all guests.
What attracted you to work at Sky?
One of the owners, Mia Langborg Ziherl and I worked together when Hilton opened in Linköping a few years back. I knew a little bit about Sky and its concepts. I have always thought it’s a good product that stands for quality and service. As the hotel industry, according to me, is the absolute best to work in, the choice was not that difficult when I was offered this position. All pieces fell into place when I met the owners of Sky, Mia and Per and I wanted to start right away. I’m really looking forward to learn more, and of course it will be very exciting to join in and open a brand new hotel in Linköping next year.
What are your strengths in your leadership and what do you think you will be able to contribute to the team?
I am usually described as committed, positive and straightforward, which I think is quite right and hopefully I will come in with some “new eyes”and see things from other angles, which can usually lead to the development of both people and routines even more.
