Since last summer it has become clear that Sky is opening a new hotel in Linköping city. The hotel will be located at Kungsgatan 18. Initially, Sky informed that the property owner NTM was building 28 hotel apartments for Sky, but also rental apartments and retail premises in the same property.
Now, Sky is expanding further as they have also signed a 15-year lease with Botrygg AB for 54 new-build hotel apartments in the same block. The two houses will be built by different companies but designed so they are perceived as a common unit. The hotel will accommodate a total of 82 spacious, modern rooms with their own kitchen, as well as a breakfast room and a reception that will be open 24 hours a day. The property will be ready for occupation during the first part of 2019. Sky Hotel Apartments’ owner and deputy CEO Mia Langborg Ziherl has given the following statement about the new facility.
“The agreement with Botrygg is very exciting and is a natural part of our establishment at Kungsgatan. It now gives us a total of 82 rooms with a breakfast room, small gym and possibility of parking in the garage. We strongly believe in the location with its proximity to the Resecentrum as well as to numerous restaurants and shops. Just like our appreciated product in the Tower, the rooms here will be spacious with full kitchen, which suits the traveler who wants to stay for longer periods. With a central location, breakfast room and staffed front desk 24 hours a day, we will also appeal to the hotel guest who wishes to stay for single nights. We are involved from the beginning, influencing the choice of materials, and with stylish interiors we’re creating a product that we are confident will stand out from the traditional hotel. With a city facility, we also expand the availability of our guests living in our furnished apartments in central locations so we see many benefits of this establishment”
