Company News — 4 March 2026
Smedvig is transforming the historic property at Verksgata 54 in Stavanger into a 57-room apartment hotel. Vander will operate the building upon completion, further strengthening its presence in the city.
The project concerns Verksgata 54 in Stavanger, where a historic functionalist building from 1929 is being transformed into a new apartment hotel. The development combines refurbishment of the existing structure with an expansion of the property.
According to the available project details, the building will comprise approximately 3,000 square metres and 57 rooms. The ambition is to preserve important architectural qualities while upgrading the property to current standards for energy, safety, and functionality.
Upon completion, Vander will operate the property as an apartment hotel. The opening is expected next summer, adding further capacity to Vander’s footprint in Stavanger.
The project forms part of the wider renewal of eastern Stavanger, where Smedvig has been active for several years. Verksgata 54 sits close to Pedersgata and is positioned within an area undergoing substantial urban development.
For Vander, the project represents a continued focus on operating apartment hotels in central urban locations through partnerships with developers and property owners.
